About The Event
You will be able to attend merit badge sessions and for those Scout who might not need or want to take a merit badge, they can fish, hike, play frisbee golf, ride mountain bikes or simply enjoy spending time in their campsites. For our First Year Scouts, the Scoutmasters will do individual instruction since it is a more hands-on type of instruction.
Since the Summer Camp tents won’t be set up, we are bringing our own or Troops tent's or hammocks for camping. To enhance merit badge instructions or rank requirements and provide another level of protection for our Scouts, we will ask that each Troop's provide their own food.
Tenting/hammocking will be done individually and the troop will cook for their Scouts. Prior to leaving for camp we are wanting each troop to do a prescreening of each Scouts. If someone isn’t feeling well or falls into the high risk category, they need to stay home. We will then do a secondary screening before you are allowed into camp. The units will each have their own campsite. We will be keeping to groups of less than 50 with a limited exposure to other groups. We will be sanitizing the bathhouses and building bathrooms multiple times a day with our staff being responsible for that. Each area will work to follow the protocol put out by the CDC and other government agencies in terms of sanitizing between uses. There will be more opportunities to handwash and we will be encouraging social distancing. We understand that we cannot remove COVID-19 from this camp, but we can mitigate the risk for our Campers, Adults and Staff Members.
